Hello! My name is Haley Luke. I am a student at the University of Mary. I am majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in Special Education. Through my many experiences at the University of Mary, working, and volunteering I have encountered and interacted with diverse learners and grown myself. Because of these opportunities, I feel well equipped and confident in my abilities and future career choice. Being an educator is such a gift, I love working with kids and continuing to learn and grow with them. I thoroughly look forward to having my own classroom soon! I come from a long line of teachers, education has always been important in my family. I grew up helping around the school, decorating classrooms, and talking about lesson plans with my family members.
My family is so important to me. They are some of the most supportive and kindhearted people ever. I love spending time with my siblings, and my close friends. We are frequently outdoors playing soccer, football, frisbee, and going on road trips. I cherish my time with them, throughout our movie nights, endless card games, competitive board games, and baking sessions. Coming from such a big family I have learned the importance of communication, collaboration, trust, support, and hard work. The people who surround me consistently push me to be my best self. I am so thankful for my loved ones.
I cannot wait to share and inspire my students with my great passion and love for staying active and spending quality time with family/friends. I hope to be that support system for my students, in the way that my family is for me.
