My Teaching Philosophy
I am a firm believer in the idea that every human being desires to love and to be loved. My teaching philosophy follows this message. I believe that each and every student is unique, exceptional, and full of potential. Students need to be in an environment that fosters their creativity and empowers them. I believe that curriculum is enriched through hands-on activities, collaboration, student choice, and differentiation.
Throughout everything, I aim to be consistent: consistent in the way that I love, lead/serve, support, and provide for my students. I aim to be consistent so that I may build an environment where students feel safe, heard, and encouraged.

To learn more about tangible and concrete methods or ideas I have, please open my curriculum, instruction, and assessment document. This document describes what I believe makes an effective teacher, how to create connections and come to understand students, how to apply and meet goals, standards, and objectives, how I hope to lesson and unit plan, how I hope to integrate technology in instruction, and different teaching and assessment strategies I hope to implement.

Classroom Management
Similarly to my teaching philosophy, I believe that every student desires to be heard, loved, safe, and supported. The best way to create this environment is to foster relationships and to establish rules and procedures. If students are aware of their expectations and these expectations are enforced, students will excel. By including students in on creating the procedures and rules, through actively incorporating their input and perspectives, they gain a sense of community, belonging, and responsibility. I believe that this is the best way to ensure that students are completely aware and willing to follow the classroom expectations.
Just like my teaching philosophy, I believe that consistency is key. While this proves to be challenging, if procedures, rules, and expectations are enforced to the fullest every single time, the class will flourish.
